Mallorca’s strategy is to recover, consolidate and advance in all those tourism products other than sun and beach, which we can already work on in winter”, in reference to sports, culture and conference tourism.

“In this economic recovery, Spanish tourism will be key, as was last year’s tourist season,” he said. He also pointed out that consolidating the island’s tourist leadership and the good forecasts as a safe and quality destination must always be carried out under the strategy of sustainability and sustainable tourism.

Throughout today, the opening day of the fair, representatives of Mallorca have held meetings with United Airlines, TUI and Euronews, among other tourism agents. As for the meeting with United Airlines, which this year launches the first direct connection New York-Palma, Cladera explained that Mallorca is already working on promoting tourism on the island in preparation for this opening and is preparing as a destination in the U.S. and Canadian markets.
