The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), through the Biodiversity Foundation, offers new free specialised services to train and advise on sustainable entrepreneurship, focusing on specific topics such as training for entrepreneurs in ecological restoration and green infrastructure.

More than 1,000 people will benefit from these services, which are co-financed by the European Social Fund, seeking to promote new ventures that contribute to green recovery and the conservation of biodiversity and to train people who, with their ideas and businesses, will promote an ecological transition.

To contribute to the development of the National Strategy for Green Infrastructure and Ecological Connectivity and Restoration (IVCRE), the Biodiversity Foundation offers a “Training in entrepreneurship linked to ecological restoration and green infrastructure” to promote entrepreneurship in the current context of climate emergency and accelerated biodiversity loss. This action is aimed at entrepreneurs who already have a company created in the last 5 years or who have a business idea and want to undertake an ecological restoration project. It includes specialised sessions and the possibility to participate free of charge and online in the European Conference on Ecological Restoration, which will take place in Alicante from 5 to 9 September 2022. Registrations for this training are open until the beginning of September. All information can be found on the Emprendeverde Network website.

Accompaniment services and administrative advice
With the aim of training entrepreneurs in the creation and launch of sustainable, innovative businesses with a positive impact, the third edition of the “Emprendeverde Itineraries” service has been launched. Anyone resident in Spain with a business idea related to ecological agriculture, the naturalisation and restoration of ecosystems, forestry management or sustainable fashion, among others, will be eligible for this free online training.

Depending on the stage of the business idea, participants will be able to enrol in the itinerary that best suits their needs and schedule. In order to respond to all entrepreneurial realities, those interested can also choose between two modalities, depending on whether they prefer to participate with fixed dates and times or without timetables, for those who prefer to follow the training in a more autonomous way. Those who wish to participate can obtain more information on the website itinerarios.emprendeverde.es and can submit their application before 31 October.

On the other hand, “Constituye Tu Empresa Verde” is a free service focused on the administrative process for the creation of a company. Entrepreneurs are trained and advised during the process of setting up their projects. The fourth edition of this initiative is aimed at people from all over Spain who have a fairly advanced business idea and need support in the administrative process of setting up their company or registering as self-employed. This service will be available continuously until June 2023 and those interested can obtain more information or apply for the service at constitu.emprendeverde.es.

Finally, the fourth edition of “Mentoring Emprendeverde” offers free and personalised mentoring to launch projects that are one step away from becoming a green company. A team of specialised mentors, with extensive experience in green entrepreneurship, will provide support in areas related to the business model, integration of biodiversity conservation, financing, commercialisation, marketing and communication, among others. Registrations are open until 18 September through the website mentoring.emprendeverde.es.

All these services offered by the Red Emprendeverde are free of charge and are developed mainly online. They will include networking meetings to generate synergies between the participating projects, and preference will be given to the participation of people from all over Spain who belong to priority social groups such as women, young people up to 35 years old, people over 45 years old, immigrants, people with disabilities and people living in protected areas and/or rural areas.

The largest green entrepreneurship community
All participants in these services will be part of the Emprendeverde Network, the largest community of green entrepreneurship in the country, made up of more than 10,500 people, and will be able to benefit from all the actions offered, aimed at strengthening their green business and ensuring the optimal start of their activity. In addition, the Emprendeverde Network allows entrepreneurs to connect with people from all over Spain who are interested in and aware of the green economy, with the aim of facilitating opportunities and establishing collaborations.
