The Regional Ministry of Social Affairs and Sports, through the Balearic Youth Institute (IBJOVE), is holding the final of the Visual Arts competition of the Art Jove 2022 programme in Binissalem on Saturday 10th September. Starting at 7 p.m., the tour of the urban intervention works will begin at the Alba Torrens Municipal Sports Centre. Once the tour is over, the exhibition of the finalists of the Art Pertot exchange programme will also be visited.

From a total of 40 entries, the jury selected, based on the criteria of quality and creativity, the 7 finalists, who have had two months to prepare the urban intervention project, with the theme of Neighbourhood.
The 7 young creators will compete for the first prize of 1,000 euros in cash and two-second prizes of 500 euros, which the jury can divide as it sees fit. In addition, the winner will receive 3,000 euros to cover all the costs of participating in the Art Pertot exchange programme.
During these two months, they have received artistic and technical advice from Tres Cultura and have been provided with a mentoring service by Leticia Maria, the curator of the competition, who has accompanied and advised them during the creative process. All the finalists have established a dialogue with some of the town’s collectives to find inspiration or information about peculiar and characteristic aspects of the municipality.
Each artist will have 5 minutes to defend their project before the jury and the audience. The route for the 7 finalist proposals will be as follows:

The Art Pertot exchange programme is an initiative of the Departmental Council of the Eastern Pyrenees, the Inund’Art Festival of Girona, and the IBJOVE, through the Art Jove Cultural Programme. The winner of the first prize in this Competition has to exhibit an artistic project in the framework of the Festival Inund’Art de Girona in June 2023 and in a group exhibition, together with the other two selected artists in the Art Pertot, at the Maison de la Catalanité in Perpignan, in December 2023.
