\ More than twenty collaborating companies are taking part
The Regional Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, through the CEP IBSTEAM and the Information Technologies in Education Service, is organising the international congress “#EduDigIB: digital education and STEAM in the Balearic Islands”, which will take place on 5 November at the Palma Conference Centre.

The objectives of the Congress are to disseminate the update of the Framework of reference of the digital competence of teachers; to reflect and raise awareness of the importance of digital competence in education with special emphasis on students and their level of digital competence, and to promote the exchange of experiences and projects that are carried out in education with technology to meet the demands of an increasingly connected society and in the process of transformation.

In addition to plenary talks and a round table on robotics experiences in schools in the Balearic Islands, the Congress will feature 8 workshops on digital competence and STEAM that will run simultaneously and an exhibitors’ area with more than twenty collaborating organisations and companies, including Google, Microsoft, INCIBE, Robotix and Arduino, among others.
Thus, and using different formats, digital competence, accreditation, creation of technological plans, accessibility and universal design for learning (UDL), leadership and innovation, security, robotics and computational thinking will be discussed. Other aspects that will also be discussed will be related to the interactive digital classroom, inclusion and high abilities, the classroom of the future, evaluation 3.0 and fake news, among others.
The congress plans to allocate 400 places to teachers from the Balearic Islands, of which 48 are reserved for teachers from Menorca, 52 for teachers from Ibiza and 7 for teachers from Formentera, all with travel expenses included. The registration period is open until 23 October.
