The average supplier payment period (PMP) of the Autonomous Regions has remained below 30 days for the last 21 months.

This historic figure is largely due to the resources transferred by the central government to the autonomous regions, which has mitigated the impact of the crisis on the companies and SMEs that are suppliers to these governments.

The average supplier payment period (PMP) of the Autonomous Regions in August was 28.36 days, which means that it has now been below 30 days, the maximum period established by the regulations, for 21 consecutive months since December 2020.

For its part, the payment period of the Central Administration has decreased by 0.17 days and stands at 45.27 days, while Local Entities in the assignment model have a payment period to suppliers of 59.52 days in the eighth month of the year, which represents a significant improvement compared to the same month of the previous year by decreasing by 17.56 days.

For its part, the PMP recorded in the Social Security Funds remained unchanged at 9.34 days in the eighth month of the year.

Central government data
The MTP of central government stood at 45.27 days in August, a decrease of 0.17 days compared with July of this year.

The ratio of transactions paid stood at 42.34 days, while the ratio of transactions pending payment reached 49.23 days.

Data from the Autonomous Regions
In the Autonomous Regions, the Average Supplier Payment Period in August 2022 stands at 28.36 days, which represents an increase of 5.31 days with respect to July 2022. In any case, it remains within the 30-day limit set by law.

With regard to the composition of the MTP, the ratio of operations paid stood at 19.72 days and that of operations pending payment at 38.63 days. This represents an increase of 2.3 days in the ratio of transactions paid and an increase of 6.59 days in the ratio of transactions pending payment compared with the previous month.

In the month of August, it is usual to see an increase in the ratio of transactions pending payment and, consequently, in the MTP, due to the holiday period.

No Autonomous Community presents this month a PMP higher than 60 days, the limit from which the Ministry of Finance and Public Function begins to apply the measures envisaged in the stability regulations.

Trade debt
Trade debt stands at 3,711.35 million euros, equivalent to 0.28% of the national GDP. This represents an increase of 293.93 million euros with respect to the previous month.

Payments of a commercial nature made in August amounted to 4,411.25 million euros, which represents an increase of 14.78% with respect to those made in the same month of 2021. Of these, 2,865.19 million euros correspond to payments of a healthcare nature, which represents an increase of 11.56% in relation to August of the previous year.
