The Governing Council has approved a call for aid aimed at maintaining the jobs of people with disabilities in special employment centres, through the partial financing of salary costs, the adaptation of jobs and the removal of architectural barriers.
The call is aimed at special employment centres, which also include non-profit centres, given their status as non-profit entities and the conditions necessary for this qualification, which makes them basic elements for the integration of people with disabilities into the labour market.
This year, the Directorate General for Labour and Occupational Health has brought forward the publication of the call for applications, as it did last year, with an advance processing of expenditure corresponding to the financial year 2023, with the aim of starting the processing of applications earlier. Therefore, the amount approved now is 4.3 million euros, which will be increased over the course of next year, when the sectoral conference funds are incorporated into the budget.
It should be noted that, although the call for proposals is brought forward to the month of December, during 2023 it may be subject to extensions, depending on budget availability and existing needs. This has been the case in the 2022 call, when 4.3 million euros were allocated in December 2021, which, in different subsequent resolutions, have been extended to more than 8 million euros.
However, the approved call is intended to grant aid to maintain the jobs of people with disabilities in special employment centres, with:
- Partial funding of the wage costs of people with disabilities and severe disabilities who provide services in special social employment centres (€2,140,000).
- A second programme to partially finance the wage costs of people with disabilities and severe disabilities who provide services in other special employment centres.
- The third programme of aid for the adaptation of workplaces and the elimination of architectural barriers (€5,000).
