The Regional Ministry of Education and Universities will transfer 1,321,806 euros to the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) to carry out university micro-credentialing courses between 2024 and 2026.

The Regional Ministry will transfer 1,321,806 euros to the UIB

The micro-credential courses will be aimed at people between the ages of 25 and 65 to improve their professional qualifications in specific skills. The courses will be designed by the UIB and are intended to be short, flexible, modular and cumulative training aimed at acquiring skills and competencies required for the workplace derived from the digital transition.

The micro-credentials will cover aspects such as digitization, cybersecurity or artificial intelligence applied to various professions and its offer will be based on responding to the requalification needs of the adult population, as well as the productive sectors, administrations and social entities. The aim is for adult learners to improve their labour participation, career development and the quality of their work, as well as productivity, competitiveness and innovation in their workplace.

The university micro-credentials will be digitally certified to guarantee their security, veracity and international portability and can be developed jointly with other autonomous communities. The Conselleria de Educació i Universitats has received this amount that will be transferred to the UIB from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
