The Lawyer’s Office of the Autonomous Community will appear as a private prosecutor, representing the Health Service of the Balearic Islands, in the criminal proceedings opened in the Central Court of Instruction No. 2 of the National High Court, which investigates the purchase of protective masks through the company Soluciones de Gestión.
This was announced today at a press conference by the Councilor of the Presidency and Public Administrations, Antònia Maria Estarellas, who is in charge of the Attorney General’s Office, together with the general director of the Health Service, Javier Ureña. Antònia Maria Estarellas emphasized that the Lawyer’s Office will appear as a private prosecutor to defend the interests of the Health Service and the citizens of the Balearic Islands.
The Director General of the Health Service has signed a resolution by which the Lawyer’s Office of the Autonomous Community will appear as a private prosecutor, which will allow it to have access to all the information of the open procedure if the secrecy of the summary proceedings has not been decreed. The Lawyer’s Office understands that there are sufficient elements to appear and claim the total amount of the contract for the purchase of the masks with the company Soluciones de Gestión for the value of 3,701,500 €, which were subsequently financed with European funds.
