Educational Technical Assistants (ATE) in the Balearic Islands

19 professionals will be assigned to Mallorca, 14 to Ibiza, 11 to Menorca and 3 to Formentera.

The Consell de Govern has today authorised the allocation of 47 new jobs for Educational Technical Assistants (ATE) in the Balearic Islands.

The allocation of these new positions has been approved at the request of the Conselleria d’Educació i Universitats, which is committed to a quality inclusive school. Furthermore, the increase in the number of students with a diagnosis of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and the demand from families to send their children with SEN to mainstream schools means that the available ATE resources are insufficient to provide quality schooling.

Faced with this situation, the Government of the Balearic Islands is prioritising the creation of 47 new ATE posts, which will be distributed among the different islands. Thus, 19 professionals will be assigned to Mallorca, 14 to Ibiza, 11 to Menorca and 3 to Formentera.
