The Consell de Mallorca organises a Mallorca Tour this summer

The Consell de Mallorca is organising a Mallorca Tour this summer to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Santanyí expedition. The Vice President of the Consell de Mallorca and Councillor of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, today presented the programme of events that will take place from the 22nd of March until the 3rd of August, although the Mallorca Tour will take place between the 25th of July and the 3rd of August.

Roca explained that “this initiative has been launched because this year marks the 125th anniversary of the return to Mallorca organised by nine members of the Real Gremio de Azalladores, full members of the Santanyí excursionist group. This was done in 1899”.

The journey begins on 25th July

On the 25th of July, the Mallorca round-the-island tour will begin with a total of nine fixed boats and others that will be added to the sections on an ad hoc basis. The vice-president and councillor assured that the Balearic will join the last stretch. Furthermore, she explained that “the number of participating boats has been limited to nine because that is how it was done in 1899”. As for the route, it will be as follows: Cala Figuera, Portocolom, Porto Cristo, Cala Ratjada, Alcudia, Sóller, Banyalbufar, Andratx and Palma.
