The new infrastructure designed by the Institut Balear d’Infraestructures i Serveis Educatius (IBISEC) of the Conselleria d’Educació i Universitats, which has been awarded to the company Bigas Grup, SL, has a budget of 4,837,423.13 euros and a completion period of 13 months. The work is expected to be completed in April 2025.

The president lamented the state of abandonment in which many infrastructures are found and expressed her gratitude for the work of the regional minister of education. “Because, even though sometimes the focus is placed on other issues, we have a minister who is visiting every one of the schools on our islands, to see the state of the schools and listen to the needs of the teaching staff and families,” she said.

This intervention is a response to the demands of the educational community of Caimari, who have been calling for a new school for years. The new school will have 3 units of nursery education and 6 units of primary education, which means a capacity for 225 school places.

The project foresees the construction of two blocks. The main block consists of a ground and ground floor and will house the administrative area and the infant classroom on the ground floor, in addition to the primary classroom on the first floor.

The second block will be used as a gymnasium, changing rooms, kitchen, dining room and other facilities, and will only have a ground floor.

The new centre will be built on a plot of land known as the Ses Deveres estate, an area of 4,070 square metres ceded by the Selva Town Council. The land is located next to the plot where the municipal sports area is being developed.
