Tourism publishes new Next Generation EU fund line of over 13.5 million euros to finance innovative sustainable projects

The Regional Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport has announced a new line of aid to finance innovative projects through cooperation to seek, implement and digitising sustainable innovative solutions in tourist establishments in the Balearic Islands, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan financed by the Next Generation EU funds, to the value of 13,632,302.21 euros.

Tourism publishes new Next Generation EU fund line of over 13.5 million euros

The purpose of this call is to direct tourism activity in the Balearic Islands towards improving the competitiveness of the tourism sector through the development of sustainable tourism, mainly taking into account the preservation and conservation of tourism resources, ensuring their correct and proportionate use, guaranteeing the durability, conservation and maintenance of the natural, cultural, artistic and social legacy of the Islands, and contributing equitably to economic growth and general well-being.

The grant is divided into two programmes: the first programme focuses on research projects through research, experimental development and the creation of feasibility studies, and the second programme focuses on organisational and process innovation. The deadline for the implementation of eligible actions starts at the time of submission of the application and ends on 31 December 2025.
