9.5 million euros will be allocated to school canteen subsidies for the 2024/2025

The Consell de Govern has today authorised the allocation of 9.5 million euros for school canteen subsidies for the 2024/2025 academic year, which represents an increase of 1.5 million euros over the previous year.

During the 2023/2024 academic year, a total of 11,988 students attending schools in the Balearic Islands benefited from the measure, after the Ministry of Education and Universities increased the initial allocation of 8 million euros by 738,000 euros to meet all applications.

The canteen subsidies are aimed at pupils from families who have difficulty paying for the service due to their family’s economic situation, socio-familial circumstances or difficulties in travelling to school.
