The Consell d’Eivissa orders the demolition of two wooden buildings in the Ses Salines Natural Park and fines those responsible 270,000 euros

The Executive Council of the Eivissa Island Council has resolved to order the demolition and immediate reinstatement of the altered physical reality of two new wooden buildings for residential use, with a surface area of 40 m2 (building 1) and 16 m2 (building 2), each of which also has a wooden terrace attached. These two illegal buildings are located in the municipality of Sant Josep, on a plot of land classified as a Protected Rustic Land Natural Area of Special Interest (SRP-ANEI) according to the LEN, in a Protected Rustic Natural Area of Special Interest of High Level of Protection (SRP-AANP) according to the PTI, within the Natural Park of Ses Salines, within the area of use conditioned to conservation and within the Natura 2000 Network, two buildings, which have been built without a licence, contrary to the territorial and urban planning and therefore manifestly illegal.

This means that the property must demolish these constructions within 2 months. In case of non-compliance with the order, the property will face the imposition of up to 12 coercive fines of 4,939.43€ each, corresponding to 10% of the value of the works carried out. Should the owner still not proceed with the demolition, the Consell Insular will carry out the demolition and pass the costs on to the offender.

In addition, a fine of 135,843.27 euros (corresponding to 275% of the value of the works carried out) has been imposed on the owner and the promoter of the works, each of them amounting to a total of 271,668.54 euros, for a very serious infringement for the execution of works without the corresponding licence.

In addition, these buildings have also been fined 60,000 euros by the Department of Tourist Planning (which is already in the payment period) for a very serious infringement for marketing and renting them out for tourism without the corresponding licence.
