Inca City Council and the Es Garrover Foundation have signed a collaboration agreement for the transfer of the use of a plot of land in the Serral de les Monges park. Thanks to this agreement, the users of the organisation, which is aimed at the social and/or labour integration of people with mental health disorders, will be able to manage one of the municipal urban vegetable gardens and will be able to carry out agricultural activities during the week.

“We are very happy to be able to sign this agreement and collaborate, once again, with an organisation from Es Garrover, providing them with a new space, which will surely open up many options and possibilities for the users of Es Garrover. We are convinced that this agreement will be beneficial for both parties and that the users will learn a lot from managing a vegetable garden”, says the councillor for the Environment, Helena Cayetano.

Thus, one of the main objectives of this agreement is to promote a new activity that allows people not only to learn how to grow organic and local products but also to promote social participation and generate links with the community. In this sense, it should be noted that the Es Garrover Foundation aims to facilitate opportunities through meaningful employment for personal and social development in an environment that allows full participation in the community.

Finally, it is worth remembering that the Inca City Council has already ceded a plot of the urban gardens at the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Inca for 2023 for a therapeutic programme to promote personal autonomy. Likewise, at the beginning of the year, a space was also ceded to Mención Inca.
