The Department of Mobility inaugurates the Maó-Favàritx and Maó-Es Grau routes before the start of the high season

This Wednesday, 15th May, the Menorca Island Council’s Department of Mobility inaugurated lines 23 and 43, corresponding to the Maó-Es Grau and Maó-Favàritx routes, two routes that are earlier than in previous years, when they were normally activated as of 1st June.

Department of Mobility inaugurates the Maó-Favàritx and Maó-Es Grau routes

Line 23, which runs from Maó to Es Grau and vice versa, will have a total of 6 frequencies, from Monday to Saturday. Three routes will depart from Maó Bus Station in the direction of Es Grau: at 9.00 am, 11.00 am and 1.15 pm. On the other hand, from the urbanisation, there will be 3 more routes in the direction of Maó: at 9.15 am, 11.15 am and 1.15 pm.

On the other hand, line 43, which covers the section Maó-Parking Favàritx-Entrada camí de cavalls-Favàritx, will also have a total of 6 frequencies from Monday to Saturday. Three buses will depart from Maó at 9.45 am, 12.00 noon and 1.45 pm, and from Favàritx at 10.10 am, 12.25 pm and 2.15 pm.

All these routes will be available until the 31st of May, the last day before the summer timetables for the high season starts in June, when the frequency of the bus schedules will be greatly increased, with greater availability throughout the day.

Beach informers

On the other hand, the information service for virgin beaches such as Cala en Turqueta, La Vall or Son Saura, among others, will begin this Thursday, 16th May, its task of organising and warning visitors of the availability and capacity of the car parks to avoid crowds of cars. This service will last until 4 October.

In the case of Favàritx, the informers will be open from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm until 31st May. After that, from the 1st of June until the 31st of October, it will be from 9 am to 8 pm, and access by private vehicle will be restricted at all times, with the possibility of parking in the corresponding car park at the entrance. Access to the lighthouse will only be possible by the aforementioned public transport, taxis, VTC and discretionary or private public transport duly authorised by the park’s management body.
