The Government authorises a 2% salary increase for teachers in state-subsidised education on the islands

This salary increase will be applied to the salaries in force on 31 December 2023 and will take effect on 1 January 2024.

With this measure, the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities is complying with the agreement reached by the Private Subsidised Education Board on 3 July.

The Consell de Govern today, 12 July, has authorised a 2% pay increase for teachers at state-subsidised schools in the Balearic Islands, including teaching staff, cooperative staff of worker cooperatives associated with teaching and autonomous religious staff who are part of state-subsidised schools in the Balearic Islands.

In this way, the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities will apply a 2% increase linked to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to the staff of state-subsidised schools, to equalise the increase with the staff of public schools.

This increase will be applied concerning the salaries in force on 31 December 2023 and with effect from 1 January 2024.

This authorisation complies with the agreement reached at the Private Subsidised Education Round Table on 3 July.
