The Regional Ministry of Education and Universities denounces attempts by outsiders to access Gestib

After detecting this incident on Thursday afternoon, the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities acted quickly and restricted access to the application. In addition, extraordinary protection measures have been taken and all the passwords of the teaching staff at the schools have been renewed. Furthermore, access outside Spain was restricted after it was detected that the attempted access had been from a foreign country.

In addition to filing a complaint with the National Police, the Ministry of Education and Universities has notified the National Data Protection Agency of the facts and, in the coming hours, the Government of the Balearic Islands will also file a complaint with the National Cryptologic Centre. Any persons who may have been affected by this attempt to access Gestib will also be informed.

The Conselleria de Educació i Universitats is appealing for peace of mind for all those who use Gestib, while informing that the scope of this attempt to access the educational application is being analysed.
