Cort kicks off the first Ciutat de Palma Motorbike Touring Trophy

To promote this sport, the Media Milla Club and the Balearic Motorcycling Federation are organising this competition, which is included in the fourth edition of the Dark Iron Motard and which has the support of Palma City Council, through the Institut Municipal de l’Esport.

In this sense, the Deputy Mayor for the Environment, Llorenç Bauzá, applauded the initiative: ‘It is always good news to add modalities to the “Ciutat de Palma” because they are a boost for the different sports and an opportunity to make them visible’, he stressed.

Bauzá also congratulated the organisers for ‘the sustainable aspect of this summer night-time event, which incorporates the participation of electric motorbikes with a 250-kilometre route for this category’.

The competition is part of the Balearic Motorcycle Touring Championship and consists of a recreational gymkhana that will take place on roads that are open to traffic.

As explained by Pep Quetglas, representative of the Media Milla Club, the route will be 350 kilometres long and will last approximately seven hours. The aim is to complete the route in as few kilometres as possible, with each participant deciding their itinerary.

The president of the Balearic Motorcycling Federation, Rafael Cañellas, thanked the Media Milla Club for its work and the support of Palma City Council for making this event, which is of a social nature, possible.

The event was also attended by the PSIB-PSOE councillor, Daniel Oliveira; Gerard Reta, representing the Media Milla Club, and Antonio Cañellas, representing Suzuki Tecnicars.
