The Health Service has invited tenders for the selection of architectural proposals for the construction of the new health centre in Llucmajor. The purpose of this service contract is to select the best architectural proposal for the construction of the new centre. The allocated budget will be distributed among the different finalist projects: first prize (€15,000); second prize (€10,000), and third prize (€5,000). The winning proposal will be the designer of the project.

The estimated value of this design competition is €644,425, which is the sum of the total amount of the prizes (€30,000) plus the amount of the service contract subsequently awarded (€614,425). The deadline for submission of proposals is ninety days and ends on 24 October.

The future health centre will be located on the site at Carrer Pere Antoni Mataró, 38 in the municipality of Llucmajor, a ten-minute walk from the current centre. The functional plan drawn up by the Primary Care Management of Mallorca foresees the construction of a 4,287 m2 building. This space will have a health centre with 11 family medicine offices, 11 nursing offices, two paediatrics offices, two paediatric nursing offices, and four multi-purpose rooms. There will also be a treatment room and an extraction area. The functional plan also foresees a women’s unit, a mental health unit, a physiotherapy unit and an oral health unit. A Continuous Care Point (PAC) and a base for SAMU 061 are also planned.

The construction of the future Llucmajor health centre is part of the Health Service Infrastructure Plan 2024-2027, which foresees an investment of 435 million euros in health infrastructures over the next four years.
