Rayo Sarrias is an industrial engineer and an expert in the design, construction and maintenance of energy infrastructures.

The IBE is the public energy company of the Balearic Islands that works for local, green, cheap and integrated energy in the territory.

The Consell de Govern, at the proposal of the president of the Board of Directors of the Instituto Balear de la Energía, attached to the Conselleria de Empresa, Empleo y Energía, has taken note of the appointment of Hernando Rayo Sarrias as managing director of the IBE.

Hernando Rayo, appointed new managing director of the Balearic Energy Institute

Rayo is an industrial engineer who graduated from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales in Barcelona and has specialised in the design, construction and maintenance of energy infrastructures. Much of his professional life has been related to gas installations, leading the design of large infrastructures in the Balearic Islands such as gas pipelines, LNG plants and distribution networks. Since 2018 he has been regional director of Redexis Balears.

The Consell de Govern also takes note of the dismissal of Mateu Ferrer Serra as managing director of the Balearic Energy Institute, given his voluntary resignation.

The IBE is the public energy company of the Balearic Islands that works to promote and implement actions in the areas of efficiency, management, energy saving and renewable energies.
