Social Security exceeds 21.2 million affiliated members

So far in 2024, the number of members in seasonally adjusted terms has grown by more than 351,000 people.

As of 13 September, Social Security registered 21,211,297 members, the second consecutive day that the 21.2 million mark has been crossed. This is 88,783 more people employed than at the end of August this year.

Social Security exceeds 21.2 million affiliated members

Disregarding seasonality and the calendar effect, 351,453 jobs have been created since the beginning of 2024, a figure in line with pre-pandemic levels to reach 21,194,389 members, with an increase of more than 26,000 people in the last two fortnights.

With the data up to 13 September, the total number of people enrolled has increased by 475,196 in the adjusted series in the last year and by 1.84 million since before the start of the pandemic.

The Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, stresses, ‘ The daily enrolment figures are once again above 21.2 million employed persons in September, demonstrating the solidity of our labour market’.
