Three couples and one visitor who have been regular visitors to the island, some since the 1960s, receive recognition on Tourist Day

The president of the Consell Insular de Eivissa, Vicent Marí, on the occasion of the Tourist Day celebrations, this week received seven loyal visitors to Eivissa over the years who have chosen the island as their holiday destination, in some cases for more than fifty years. This is the case of the Dutch couple Pauw de Wit (who have been visiting Ibiza since 1971) and Wim Pannekoek (since 1986), who spend their holidays in Santa Eulària every year at destinations such as Cala Llonga, Cala Pada and Pueblo Espárragos.

Another couple who have been honoured is the Italian couple Vittoria Polí and Giancarlo Angelini who have been staying at the Hotel Insotel Cala Tarida in San José for 25 years.

Also recognised for their loyalty to Ibiza was Francisca Obrador Vidal from Mallorca, who stays in Sant Antoni. By agenda, last Monday received the couple formed by the Andorran Meritxel Armengol and Javier Fernandez, who have also been visiting the island on their holidays for more than 60 years.

President Vicent Marí, accompanied by the mayor of Santa Eulària, Carmen Ferrer, the mayor of San José, Vicente Roig, and the councillors of Eivissa and San Antonio, Ruben Sousa and Miquel Tur, thanked everyone for their loyalty in Ibiza and described them as the ‘best ambassadors of the island, who year after year return to their country speaking well of Ibiza’ and explained that all of them are the example “that Ibiza is an island to enjoy at all stages of life, which has a marked spirit of welcome and makes those who visit us feel good”.

Marí presented them with an award, consisting of an image of the goddess Tanit and promotional material about the island. This reception was part of the activities for the Day of the Tourist, which was held in all the municipalities of Eivissa today.
