Thanks to the Improvement Plan of the IEB’s Subsidies Area, the first advances have been made four months earlier than last year.
It has been published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) the Resolution of the president of the Institute of Balearic Studies by which aid is granted about the call for grants to support fairs, festivals, concert series, meetings, conferences and awards in the world of culture that promote the external projection and are carried out in the territory of the Balearic Islands for the year 2024.

The Institute of Balearic Studies (IEB) allocates more than 1.5 million euros to support fairs and festivals
With this Resolution, the Institute of Balearic Studies (IEB) approves and grants a total of 1,714,000 euros to the beneficiaries of this aid.
It should be noted that at the same time as this publication in the BOIB, an advance payment of 50% of the total granted to the beneficiaries has been made. In this way, an advance of four months has been achieved in the payment of the advances to previous years, thus achieving one of the objectives of the IEB’s Improvement Plan.
The Institute of Balearic Studies (IEB), to comply with its involvement in the cultural sector, aims to advance all the deadlines in the administrative procedures for subsidies. Thanks to the earlier publication of the calls for proposals, it has been possible to issue and publish the award decision in advance and the advances have now been made available to the sector, which can use them during the implementation of the projects presented. This objective was raised by the sector during the meetings that the management of this institution held with the representatives of the different cultural areas just before the announcement of this year’s subsidies.
Llorenç Perelló, director of the IEB, states that ‘as an institution, we are very aware of the sector’s dependence on public subsidies; for this reason, we place all possible emphasis on improving their management, something that the cultural sector in our region has been asking for for a long time’.
