Progress towards the digitalisation of water management in the Balearic Islands
The Board of Directors of the Balearic Water and Environmental Quality Agency (ABAQUA) has approved the start of the contracting process for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the data warehouse of the Strategic Plan for the Digital Transformation of Water Resources Management. This project aims to create an advanced digitalisation and control tool to optimise the management of ABAQUA, including future control systems for wells and water abstractions.

The Board of Directors of the Balearic Water and Environmental Quality Agency approves the start of the procedure for the contracting of an advanced water resource control and management system
The dossier, for which the terms and conditions have already been drawn up and funding has been granted, is now entering the contracting phase. The tendering process is expected to be underway before the end of the year and the contract is expected to be awarded in the first quarter of 2025.
The approved budget for this contract amounts to 1,581,591 euros, of which the majority is expected to be executed throughout 2025, with the aim of the project being fully completed by early 2026.
