Authorisation of the extraordinary contribution to the UIB for the expenditure of the Programme for the Promotion of Research

The Consell de Govern has authorised the extraordinary contribution to the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) to meet the expenses derived from the Programme for the Promotion of Research.

This is a contribution of 4 million euros from the Ministry of Education and Universities to be charged to the budgets of the years 2024, 2025 and 2026. Thus, the contributions are 1,198,655.93 euros for the financial year 2024, 1,412,563.83 euros for the financial year 2025 and 1,388,780.24 euros for the financial year 2026.

The main objective of this Plan, structured in three areas (human resources, infrastructures and equipment, and R&D projects), is to promote the generation and significant progress of scientific knowledge and quality research at the UIB and in the Balearic Islands. All of this should have an impact on improving the social, economic and technological conditions of society and should enable the Balearic Islands to make progress on the international research scene.
