President Vicent Marí explained that this service ‘was launched in the pandemic due to the need to attend to people and families in vulnerable situations’, in this sense the president explained that ‘from the Consell, at the request of Caritas, we considered it necessary to continue the service to respond to these people who do not have their basic needs covered, as well as ensure their social inclusion and a better quality of life with tools to improve, for example, their employment situation’.

For his part, the director of Caritas in Ibiza, Juan Torres Marí, stressed that ‘the Ibiza Council supports all the services and programmes that we promote to help users, not only by providing them with the basic services they may need but also by promoting, through socio-educational accompaniment, their social inclusion to ensure their wellbeing fully, such as access to decent housing’.

Finally, the President of the Council of Eivissa and the Councillor for Social Welfare, Family and Equality have conveyed to the Director of Caritas in Eivissa their firm commitment to the social welfare of people on the island and, likewise, their commitment to support all those actions and programmes of the entity that extend the social coverage of vulnerable people.
