The surveys prior to the start of the works planned by the 11.8 million Palma Access Plan will be carried out on the nights of Wednesday the 16th and Thursday the 17th from 9 pm until 6 am. They will start from the airport motorway and go to the junction of Calle Aragó in the direction of Andratx.
The Consell de Mallorca plans to begin work on the new road surface reinforcement, with high-quality, non-slip asphalt, on most of Palma’s ring road during the first weeks of November. These works will improve driver safety and traffic flow, and have a budget of 11.8 million euros. To begin these works, topographical surveys and an analysis of the road surface and asphalt must be carried out. Signs will also be installed to start the work.

Closure of a section of the Cintura road at night due to the topographical survey as a result of the new road surface reinforcement works
These tasks will be carried out on the nights of Wednesday 16 October and Thursday 17 October, from 21:00 to 6:00 in the morning. For safety reasons, the section of the ring road between the airport motorway and the Calle Aragó junction will be closed during these hours and alternative routes will be offered. The works to reinforce the roadbed of the ring road, announced by the president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, in September, have a budget of 11.8 million euros. They consist of renovating the entire asphalt of Mallorca’s busiest thoroughfare along 8 kilometres. The work, with the new high-quality, non-slip road surface, will also include branch roads and will go as far as the Genova tunnel. It should be remembered that it has been more than 14 years since an improvement of this kind has been made on the ring road.
This action will also modify the subway at the Can Blau roundabout, which currently has only two lanes from the airport motorway in the direction of Andratx and will now have three. This modification is intended to eliminate the traffic funnel that forms at rush hour. Access from the Llucmajor motorway and the Manacor road will also be improved.
