In this regard, the councillor Joan Simonet pointed out that ‘the call for applications was published on 2 May and the deadline for submitting applications was 15 June. This means that we have been able to make a first payment four months later, which demonstrates our commitment to the sector, which we want to provide with the maximum possible liquidity.

A total of 1,294 out of 698 applicants submitted applications during the application period, which ended on 15 June 2024. These have generated 593 payment files for the extraordinary purchase of food and 672 payment files for the extraordinary purchase of food.

A total of 1,294 out of 698 applicants submitted applications by the deadline of 15 June 2024. These have generated 593 payment files for the extraordinary purchase of foodstuffs and 672 payment files for the line of sowing cereals, legumes, fodder, cruciferous crops and improving species. Thus, this week the first 62 dossiers corresponding to priority farms have been paid for a total amount of 355,371.77 euros.
It should be remembered that, according to the call for applications, the eligible actions are: compensation for the damage caused by the drought; for the owners of livestock farms, the extraordinary purchase of food for production animals on their farms and the owners of agricultural holdings, the sowing of cereals, legumes, fodder, cruciferous and improving species. Eligible expenses are those related to these crops: seeds, fertilisers, diesel, seed treatment, grain cleaning and other inputs that have been invested in the winter and spring sowing campaigns. Furthermore, only costs incurred and paid by the beneficiary from 1 September 2023 until the date of submission of the aid application are eligible.

It is understood that the costs for the purchase of seeds, fertiliser, seed treatment and grain cleaning for the sowing of the aforementioned crops may have been incurred prior to sowing, therefore the costs for these items are eligible from 1 July 2023.
