Social Security exceeds 21.3 million members in mid-October

the Social Security registered 21,362,158 affiliates. Since the first day of the month, the 21.3 million mark has been crossed. This is 218,162 more employed people than at the end of September this year.

Discounting seasonality and the calendar effect, 429,400 jobs have been created since the start of 2024, a figure in line with pre-pandemic levels to stand at 21,272,336 members, with an increase of almost 78,000 people in the last two fortnights.

Social Security exceeds 21.3 million members in mid-October

With the data up to 15 October, the total number of people enrolled has risen by 492,679 in the adjusted series over the past year, and by 1.91 million since before the start of the pandemic.

The Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, stresses that: ‘Our labour market continues to show its strength and, halfway through the month, the daily enrolment figures are already above the 21.3 million employed barriers’.
