They will be destined for the volunteer fire brigade of Caacupe, in Paraguay.
The Department of Environment, Biosphere Reserve and Cooperation of the Consell Insular de Menorca has presented the donation of Pegaso rural vehicles, as well as material that can be added to the same situation, belonging to the Service of Prevention and Extinction of Fires and Rescue of Menorca, to the Rotary Club Mahón-Mô.

The Consell Insular donates two Fire Service vehicles to the Rotary Club Mahón-Mô
In addition, the Head of the Fire Prevention and Extinction and Rescue Service of Menorca, issued a report in which he considered that the trucks were outside the national regulations on Occupational Risk Prevention because they did not have and could not install lifelines to work on the roof, and also because they did not comply with the regulations on gas emissions.
Therefore, although they are in a state of mechanical and hydraulic pump operation, they cannot be adapted to national and European regulations, so they will be removed from the Fire Service of the Consell Insular in December 2023.
As you can see elsewhere, and seeing the good current situation of the vehicles, the Consell Insular has formalized the donation of the trucks in favour of the Rotary Club Mahón-Mô, which is committed to allocating the cars to the Rotary Club of Paraguay, to provide them to the volunteer fire service of Caacupe (Paraguay), within a project of solidarity cooperation with the aim that they can use them as fire fighting vehicles, since the existing regulations in the country allows its operability.
‘From the Consell Insular, we are very happy to announce the donation of these two vehicles to the Rotary Club Mahón-Mô, as the current regulations have made them obsolete, but they are still useful and can do a great service. The department has worked hard with the Rotary Club Mahón-Mô and the Fire Service to be able to formalise this donation, and we hope that it will be of great use in its new destination’, said Simón Gornés, councillor for the Environment, Biosphere Reserve and Cooperation.
In addition, Miguel Ángel Sicilia, president of the Rotary Club Mahón-Mô, stressed that ‘we are doing a great favour to the Caacupe fire brigade, as they tolerate adverse weather conditions and the need for new machinery and vehicles is essential for their good development. It is our job as a club to be able to connect with others locally, nationally and internationally, and this project is one of the most important in recent years’.
