The Ministry and the Conselleria de Educació i Universitats finance the hiring of 46 assistant lecturers with doctoral degrees
The Government of the Balearic Islands provides 14,434,081.16 euros for the creation of 18 positions and the stabilisation of all the positions created.
The Consell de Govern has authorised the agreement between the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities and the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) for the implementation of the Programme for the Incorporation of Teaching and Research Talent in Spanish Public Universities.

As established in the agreement, the Ministry sets the needs of the UIB for the entry into force of the Organic Law of the University System (LOSU) at 46 new positions of assistant professor doctor, of which the Ministry assumes 28 and provides 327,652 euros to meet the cost of creating and providing the positions.
In compliance with the agreement, the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands must provide the necessary credit for the creation and provision of the remaining 18 assistant lecturer doctor posts and the cost of the stabilisation procedures for all the lecturer posts created and provided. The doctoral assistant positions respond to the need to incorporate new university lecturers to make up for the reduction in the teaching dedication of some lecturers as a result of the application of the LOSU. Although the UIB and the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities estimate that 238 new doctoral assistants will be needed to compensate for the application of the LOSU, the Ministry only covers 28 new positions.
