These payments correspond to the Bono Alquiler Joven call for 2022 and 2023, financed by the Government of Spain for these two years and which allows beneficiaries to receive aid of 250 euros per month for a maximum of two years (24 monthly payments) provided they present the receipts for each four-month period.
For 2024, the Government of the Balearic Islands has been requesting the Ministry of Housing and the Urban Agenda to extend this aid programme for this year since November last year. Last month, at the Sectoral Housing Conference, the state extension of the programme was unblocked and, subsequently, the Council of Ministers approved the agreement prior to the call for applications.
With regard to rental subsidies, as of this Friday, the deadline – until 15 December – for submitting applications for the new call for applications for the payment of subsidies corresponding to 2024 rents has been opened.
With regard to the 2023 rental subsidies, a new payment will soon be made to a first group of applicants who meet the requirements and who have correctly rectified the deficiencies detected during the review phase of the files with shortcomings. So far, five payments totalling 5.4 million euros have been made to almost 2,400 beneficiaries.
