The Government of the Balearic Islands has sent a total of 244 people and 49 vehicles to help in the rescue and rehabilitation work in the areas affected by the hurricane that devastated the Valencian Community on 29 October.
Specifically, the Government has sent a total of three human and technical devices managed by the Directorate General of Emergencies and Interior, in constant coordination with the CENEM and the CECOPI of the Generalitat Valenciana. The first contingent, with 66 people and 25 vehicles, left on 3 October. Two relays of the global contingent were made on 6 and 11 November with personnel from the four islands. The area assigned from the first day has been sector 3 of zone 0, which includes the municipalities of Benetússer, Sedaví, Alfafar and Llocnou de la Corona.

The tasks carried out by the displaced personnel, broadly speaking, consisted of setting up the command post for the different personnel in the assigned sector, extracting water from different garages, some of which have a large capacity; extracting water from subways on traffic routes, investigating possible victims within the area, and investigating possible victims within the area.

All these tasks were coordinated, among others, by the Fire Department of the Valencia Consortium and the Military Emergency Unit (UME).
Since the first contingent was dispatched, the Government has sent:

2 personnel transport vehicles that have carried out the relief operations.
There is also a coordination and logistical support cell, with a team of 5 people in Palma, which has been active throughout the duration of the operation and has coordinated relays, trips and all the institutional procedures that have been necessary.

The last of the official contingents of the Government of the Balearic Islands sent to the Valencian Community returned to the islands yesterday, Saturday.
