Education announces grants for students and teachers of intermediate vocational training to participate in two intensive English language immersion courses in Ireland

\ A minimum of 75 students and 12 teachers from 31 schools participating in one of the Foreign Language Reinforcement Plans will be able to benefit.

The BOIB no. 156 of 30 November 2024 has published the call for applications for grants to enable students and teachers of intermediate-level training cycles at 31 publicly funded schools in the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands participating in one of the Foreign Language Reinforcement Plans to take part in two intensive English language immersion courses in Ireland.

Education announces grants for students and teachers of intermediate vocational training to participate in two intensive English language immersion courses in Ireland

The call for applications provides for two types of grants: one for students enrolled in intermediate-level training courses associated with the Foreign Language Reinforcement Plans during the 2024-2025 school year (type A) and another for teachers who will be teaching groups of intermediate-level training courses associated with the Foreign Language Reinforcement Plans during the 2024-2025 school year (type B).

The grants, a minimum of 75 for modality A and 12 for modality B, cover expenses such as travel, accommodation, meals, teaching materials and insurance, among others. They are distributed territorially, with 85% for Mallorca, 5% for Menorca and 10% for Ibiza and Formentera.

Language immersion programmes in Ireland

The two courses (modality A and modality B) will take place in Ireland between 27 February and 30 April 2025. The company awarded the contract will be in charge of determining the exact dates, the different shifts, and the places where the courses will take place.

Interested students and teachers can submit their applications until 15 December 2024 through the CAIB’s Electronic Headquarters or also in person, in the case of modality A. For more information, please consult the website of Vocational Training of the Government of the Balearic Islands.

These grants are funded by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sport and by the European Union-NextGenerationEU, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan Mechanism.
