On 13 December, the Directorate General of Traffic will be launching its traditional information campaign for the Christmas holidays.
This is a time of year when we all become more generous, kinder and more caring and behave better in all areas of our lives, and we also try to transfer this spirit to the road.
For this reason, this year’s awareness campaign, with a warm and friendly tone, focuses on conveying this idea of behaving all year round as if it were Christmas.

‘Always drive like you’re carrying the main course for the Christmas meal’, the slogan of the DGT’s new information campaign
This year’s protagonists are a family as they drive out of their garage. The driver and passengers are alert, taking great care to comply with all the rules of the road, while also respecting other road users, to reach their destination safely and sound. We might think that they are concerned about driving in a civic manner, but, in reality, when they arrive we discover, in a twist of script with a touch of humour, that what they were worrying about was the Christmas roast they are carrying in the boot and which they are going to share with their loved ones.
A situation that reflects the absurdity of taking care of driving for this reason, when the important thing is to always drive responsibly, taking care of ourselves, other passengers and other road users.
Bearing in mind the increase in the number of journeys made over the festive season, as well as the number of lunches and dinners with friends and family that take place over these days, it is important to insist on the importance of respecting the traffic rules, getting the best out of ourselves and ensuring that this attitude continues throughout the year, not just at Christmas.
With the slogan ‘Always drive as if you were carrying the main course of the Christmas meal’ and the hashtag #ConducirEsConvivir, the campaign can be seen and heard from tomorrow, Friday 13 December, until 5 January on television, radio, print media, digital media, social networks, cinema and outdoors.
In addition, a specific page has also been created, https://RecetasParaConducirBien.dgt.es, where, in a friendly way in line with the tone of the campaign, driving tips will be offered as if a cooking recipe were being prepared, drawing a parallel between the world of gastronomy and that of driving.
