Francisco Romero Casasola advises us on the prevention of problems in cars over 5 years old.

What can we find at AutoTaller RC, according to Francisco Romero Casasola?
We can find any car service from an oil change to a repair of a control unit or brakes. The basics and the most complicated.
Trust, 17 years of experience and good work are our hallmarks.
Customers know us from recommendations from customers who are already part of the family.

Why is it especially important to take care of cars over 5 years old, Francisco Romero Casasola?
Because after 5 years of age, many parts begin to show natural wear and tear due to use and time. Without proper maintenance, this wear and tear can develop into serious failures. Also, older cars have less advanced technologies to prevent problems, so manual care is essential.

What are the most common problems you see in cars over 5 years old, Francisco Romero Casasola?
Some of the most common problems include worn brakes, leaks in the cooling system, failures in the electrical system, such as dead batteries, and problems with the suspension. We also see many cases of timing belts that are not changed in time, which can lead to serious engine damage.

Francisco Romero Casasola advises us on preventive measures for cars over 5 years old

What preventive measures would Francisco Romero Casasola recommend to avoid these problems?
First, follow a regular maintenance schedule. This includes oil changes, brake checks, and checks of fluids such as coolant, brake fluid and transmission fluid. Second, check the condition of the battery and electrical system at least once a year. Third, check the tyres, not only for pressure but also for wear and tear. Finally, for cars over 5 years old, it is important to check the timing belt and the suspension system, as these parts tend to wear out over time.

Francisco Romero Casasola advises us on driving style in the prevention of problems

What role does driving style play in preventing problems, according to Francisco Romero Casasola?
A very important role. Aggressive driving, such as hard braking or sudden acceleration, accelerates the wear of brakes, suspension and tyres. On the other hand, constantly driving at low revs can build up carbon build-up in the engine. A smooth and balanced driving style helps to keep the car in better condition for longer.

Is there any technology or tool that you recommend, Francisco Romero Casasola, to monitor the state of the car?
Yes, nowadays there are OBD (on-board diagnostic) devices that connect to the car’s port and allow you to monitor the state of the engine, detect faults and review data in real time from a mobile application. I also recommend using apps that remind you of maintenance dates, such as oil changes or general overhauls.

Francisco Romero Casasola tells us about the reality of cars over 5 years old

What message would Francisco Romero Casasola give to owners of cars over 5 years old?
I would tell them that a car that is more than 5 years old does not mean that it is old or that it should fail. With proper maintenance, a car can last for many more years in excellent condition. Invest in regular check-ups and don’t leave small problems for later, because they always end up being more expensive.
Thank you very much, Francisco Romero Casasola for your advice and for sharing your experience.
