In addition, six other centres, which were recognised for the first time in 2022, have renewed their accreditation.
The Ministry of Education and Universities today hosted the presentation by the UNICEF Balearic Committee of the accreditation of 4 new centres in the Balearic Islands as Referent Centres for Child Rights Education. Specifically, these are the La Salle school in Inca, the La Miranda de Sant Franscesc Xavier school in Formentera, the Es Vedallet del Toro school in Menorca and the Ágora Portals school in Calvià.

In addition, UNICEF Spain has renewed the accreditation of IES Santa Maria in Santa Maria del Camí, the Ses Païses school in Sant Antoni de Portamany in Ibiza, the Santa Ponça school in Calvià, the Es Fameliar school in Santa Eulària des Riu in Ibiza, the Es Molinet school in Calvià and the Bendinat school, also in Calvià. These six centres were recognised for the first time in 2022.
Today’s award ceremony was attended by the Regional Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera; the Regional Secretary of Educational Development, Mateu Suñer; the Director General of Early Childhood, Attention to Diversity and Educational Improvement, Neus Riera; the Director General of Educational Planning and Management, Catalina Ginart; the Director General of Professional Training and Educational Planning, Maria Isabel Salas; and the President of UNICEF Balearic Committee, Valentina Milano.
UNICEF grants these accreditations to educational centres that promote and protect children’s rights, integrating the Convention on the Rights of the Child as the central axis of their educational project and involving the entire educational community.
