The reform of 11 kilometres of the Ma-1 road has a budget of 6 million and the bicycle and pedestrian lane in Alaró has a budget of nearly 1.5 million pesos.
This week the executive council of the Consell de Mallorca, chaired by Llorenç Galmés, approved the definitive projects for two important infrastructures. This is the case of the reinforcement of the road surface and improvement of the Ma-1 road, along 11 kilometres between Peguera and Port d’Andratx, with a budget of 6 million euros. The project for the Alaró civic road has also been approved, at a cost of nearly 1 million euros.

The Consell de Mallorca approves the definitive projects for the Alaró civic road and the reinforcement of the road surface between Peguera and Port d’Andratx
The project to reform and reinforce the road surface between Pequera and Port d’Andratx, on the Ma-1 road, runs from kilometre 21 to 32. It is one of the black spots in terms of asphalt deterioration and, once the definitive project has been approved, it will go out to tender in January. Work could begin before the summer at some points, although it would stop during the high season and resume in September. In addition to laying new asphalt, new safety barriers and improved signage, both vertical and horizontal, will also be installed.
The civic road between the roundabout on the Vell d’Orient road and the village of Alaró will also go out to tender in January, and work could begin between March and April. This project was to be carried out together with the roundabout, which was to be inaugurated at the end of 2023. However, the awarding of the works was not successful, so prices had to be modified and the project updated. It is just over 500 metres long and the budget is one million euros. It will run alongside the road with safety barriers separating the road from the civic lane. This is a long-awaited project by the residents of Alaró, which, in a few months, will be a reality and should connect with the future Greenway of the train that the Government of the Balearic Islands is to build.
