The project has a total budget of 266,420 euros and will take four months to complete.

The works to renovate the pavement in the port of Cala Figuera, in the municipality of Santanyí (Mallorca), are underway. The project, promoted by Ports de les Illes Balears (PortsIB), aims to resolve the advanced deterioration of the road surface, caused by years of intensive use as a manoeuvring area for vehicles and heavy machinery.

The intervention includes the complete demolition of the current pavement and its replacement with a new fibre-reinforced concrete pavement, designed to withstand heavy loads and guarantee greater durability.

In addition, the basic installation networks, such as the electricity supply, water supply, and lighting system, will be renewed, and the sewage collection system will be improved.

To complete the work, the stone wall and the inner face of the wall closest to the mouth will be repaired, and additional elements such as bollards and complementary furniture will be installed.

Although the deterioration affected different areas of the esplanade unevenly, a comprehensive renovation has been chosen for both technical and aesthetic reasons. With a total budget of 266,420 euros (VAT included) and an expected completion time of four months, the work will significantly improve the port’s operability and safety, as well as give it a renewed image in keeping with current needs.
