The residence has been designed as an environment that inspires warmth and well-being, leaving behind the traditional idea of a cold and impersonal centre.
The Consell Insular de Menorca has presented the completed remodelling of the Trepucó III Residence. This innovative space was created to offer a welcoming and specialised home for people with intellectual disabilities and serious behavioural disorders.
The Trepucó III Residence has been designed as an environment that inspires warmth and well-being, leaving behind the traditional idea of a cold and impersonal centre. With a capacity for 9 places, it will cater for people aged between 18 and 65, with one place reserved for a pilot test for minors who meet the requirements set out in the internal regulations.

Completion of the remodelling project of the Trepucó III Centre
‘This project reflects our commitment to wellbeing, inclusion and the continuous improvement of social services in our community. Our intervention approach is based on the Positive Behavioural Support model, which looks holistically at each person and their environment. This model not only reaches the welfare aspect but also the educational and sensory, promoting new skills to reduce behavioural problems,’ explained Adolfo Vilafranca, president of the Consell Insular.
These works had a final budget of 1.3 million euros, of which 884,000 euros were financed by Next Generation Funds. The centre is expected to be open by the end of the first quarter of 2025.
‘With this opening, we not only want to offer an essential service but also to strengthen ties with families and the community. The Trepucó III Residence aspires to be a benchmark in the care of people with disabilities, promoting their quality of life and social inclusion, respecting the individualisation of the spaces and that at all times they can be adapted to the needs of each of the residents’, argued Carmen Reynés, councillor for Social Welfare.
The centre has a surface area of some 605 m2 and has 9 bedrooms, adapted bathrooms, living areas, areas for physiotherapy and relaxation services, a pharmacy, laundry, kitchen, staff office and a rest room. On the other hand, there will be 11 care assistants, 5 social integrators, an educator and a psychologist.
