The public ports of the Balearic Islands significantly increase access to nautical infrastructure
PortsIB has authorised 142 base moorings for list 7 boats for 2024, a figure that doubles the 58 moorings allocated in 2023. This expansion highlights the organisation’s commitment to a more agile and efficient management of port resources, to respond to the sector’s demand.
The increase has been achieved thanks to a significant expansion of the initial offer. While 126 moorings were proposed in 2023, in 2024 a total of 292 have been offered, of which 142 have already been awarded and authorised. This quantitative leap reflects a firm commitment to the improvement of public infrastructures and the promotion of access to the public ports of the archipelago.

With a view to the future, the organisation is already working on the adjudications planned for 2025. A new supply of moorings is envisaged in locations such as Andratx, Sant Elm, Banyalbufar and Ciutadella, in addition to the incorporation of the Port of Cala Ratjada, where a new distribution plan is being finalised to optimise spaces.
At the same time, allocation processes will be reopened in those ports where moorings are still available. These include Sant Antoni de Portmany, Colònia de San Jordi, S’Oberta, Fornells and Es Barcarès, which will open up new opportunities for users who could not access in previous calls.
With this set of measures, PortsIB reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable growth of the recreational nautical sector, a fundamental pillar for the economic and social development of the Balearic Islands. The organisation continues to work to ensure that the balance between growing demand and the preservation of the environment is compatible with the dynamism that characterises this activity.
