Once again this year, Inca Town Council is organising a series of events to celebrate the festivities of San Antonio and San Sebastián, in conjunction with various associations in the municipality. ‘The programme for the festivities of San Antonio and San Sebastián in Inca is a reflection of our commitment to culture and tradition. Through a wide variety of events and the involvement of all citizens, these celebrations demonstrate the importance of sharing our traditions and keeping alive the embers of popular culture,’ says the mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno.
The special San Antonio programme kicks off on Friday the 17th of January, the day of the patron saint of animals, when the traditional solemn mass will be held in the church of Santa María la Mayor. This will be followed by the blessing of small animals in the Plaza de Santa María la Mayor.

Continuing with the programme, on Sunday the 19th of January at 10:00 a.m., the Santa Maria la Major square will host the performance of xeremiers and the dance of demons, who will make a route to the Gran Via Colom. Shortly afterwards, at 10.30 a.m., there will be the traditional Sant Antoni blessings, where all those who take part will be given a gift.
As for the fiestas of San Sebastián, on Monday 20th January at 7.30 p.m., the Church of San Domingo will host the solemn mass to honour San Sebastián. The event will include the dance of the Offering, performed by the Verbena de Inca. On the same day, at 8.30 p.m. in Calle San Sebastián, there will be a Rosary accompanied by the guitars of the Verbena de Inca. In addition, this year the proclamation will be given by Margalida Morro Quetglas. Finally, at 9 pm there will be a ‘tostada’ (toast).
