The Government has conveyed to the Royal Spanish Football Federation its displeasure at the serious incidents that took place outside the King Abdullah Stadium and the advisability of not holding the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia
In the letter addressed to Rafael Louzá, president of the RFEF, Bauzà explains that the Mallorquinista fans ‘especially the women in attendance, were literally frightened by a home crowd that flouted the most minimal rules of coexistence and decorum’. For this reason, the Government assures that ‘these incidents should force the Royal Spanish Football Federation to reconsider the suitability of the country chosen to host the Spanish Super Cup in future editions’.
Likewise, the Sports Councillor reminds us that ‘we cannot lose sight of the fact that sport is a point of reference for millions of people who deserve the best example’.
