This meeting follows the steps already initiated at the summit held last July between the two autonomous governments and reinforces the common strategy to structure a new Mediterranean axis from which to address interests linked to the two territories.
During the meeting, Company and Pascual showed their agreement to work on common challenges in the areas of artificial intelligence, universities, technological positioning, submarine cable and European funds, and for which they have committed themselves to seeking common working formulas to promote digital skills in the two communities.
Councillor Miquel Company stressed that “it has been a very fruitful meeting to continue working together to consolidate science and knowledge transfer between the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community”. “By defining joint projects in the digital sphere, such as the commitment to digital districts and the exchange of experiences in the management of public resources, we will be able to accelerate the change towards a knowledge society that will allow us to create competitive societies in the medium and long term”, added Company.
For her part, Councillor Carolina Pascual wanted to highlight the importance of promoting innovation from Alicante for the entire Valencian Community and expressed her interest in “unifying capacities and strengthening ties with the Government of the Balearic Islands to advance together in digitisation and to commit to inclusive technology that provides answers to the problems of society as a whole”.
