Before the Correllengua began, the president of the Association of Catalan Language Writers, Sebastià Portillo, read a manifesto and listened to La Balanguera. Afterwards, representatives of Jóvenes de Mallorca por la Lengua lit the flame for the language, which they handed over to the authorities present. Thus began the symbolic race through different towns in Mallorca.
