The Inca Town Hall is organising this week’s traditional Carnival festivities, which have been responsibly adjusted in view of the pandemic situation that existed a few months ago and the high number of incidents. “When this decision was taken we were aware that it would disrupt the plans of many people and the organisation, but we thought it was the most prudent thing to do. However, we are very satisfied with the response from the public, especially the schools, and the number of people who have signed up,” says the Councillor for Participation, Andreu Caballero.
The RUETA, in which some 1,500 children from 10 different schools will take part, will take place on Thursday. The start will take place at 4 p.m. from Plaça de la Llibertat, with a festive finale in Plaça Mallorca, where there will be entertainment for children. On the other hand, the Unió Musical Inquera will be in charge of leading the parade and Acrocirc will also animate the parade.
As for the RUA, it will be held on Saturday from 7 p.m. onwards. The 9 groups and 4 floats taking part will gather in Fra Juníper Serra street and will go through the main streets of the city centre.
This year, as a novelty, the end of the festival will take place on Miquel Duran street. In total, the City Council will distribute 5,450 euros in prizes among the winners in the categories of floats and comparsas, in addition to the 2,000 euros that will be distributed among the participants in the Rueta.
Once again this year, the jury will be made up of experts in different artistic fields. In addition, there will also be a civic agent who will monitor the good behaviour of the participants. The timetables and routes can be consulted here: https://incaciutat.com/esdeveniment/carnaval-2022
