For yet another year, Inca Town Council has formalised its commitment to carry out the “No i Punt!” campaign, promoted by the Consell de Mallorca with the aim of making clearly visible the rejection of any manifestation of sexism and being able to provide tools and strategies to identify, prevent and deal with them. Thus, with this agreement, the council of the capital of Raiguer wants to promote a municipality free of sexist and sexual aggressions and to contribute to making popular and patron saint festivals safe, egalitarian spaces free of sexist aggressions.

“In this way, we advance in the municipal commitment to the prevention, detection, rejection and attention of sexist aggressions and contribute to combating gender stereotypes and beliefs that support sexual violence, as well as increasing the safety of women,” explains the councillor for Equality, Antònia Maria Sabater.

Thanks to this agreement, the Inca Town Council undertakes to carry out dissemination and communication actions with the image and messages of the campaign. In addition, the training provided by the Consell de Mallorca to all municipal staff, educational centres and social entities will also be promoted. In addition, the unitary model of the Protocol of Action against sexist and sexual aggressions will be adopted, and a meeting will be held with the Local Police to reach a consensus on its application.

Therefore, during festivals and popular celebrations, exhaustive vigilance will be carried out and police action will be guaranteed in accordance with the measures established in the Protocol, as well as care will be taken to keep a record of the police interventions carried out in this area. Afterwards, the incidents of sexual and sexist aggression collected by the Local Police will be communicated to the Consell de Mallorca, always respecting the privacy of the people affected.

Finally, it should be noted that Inca already hosted an information session on the “No i punt!” campaign on 13th June.
