This figure represents an increase of almost 110,000 euros compared to the 2021 call for proposals. A total of 37 projects, from 23 administrations and 14 different entities, have met the requirements for language volunteer activities, training for specific groups, leisure, linguistic integration and awareness-raising. Overall, more than seventy activities were submitted.
The aim of the grants is to disseminate and promote the social use of the Catalan language among the general population, both native and newcomers, of the Balearic Islands. The Director General of Language Policy, Beatriu Defior, highlighted the role of local councils and organisations as “fundamental agents in the task of normalising the Catalan language”.
