The conference, which will take place this Tuesday, 4 October, is part of the activities planned by the Directorate General for Innovation through the Innovation Factory programme, which plans to deploy more than 500 actions to promote the introduction of innovations in the production processes of Balearic companies, as well as certifications.
The event will be inaugurated by Jesús Jurado, regional secretary for Productive Sectors and Democratic Memory, and Carlos Bibiloni, head of the Projects Office of the Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca. Also taking part will be José María Peláez, Secretary General for the Promotion of Innovation at the Ministry of Science and Innovation, who will explain what the National Register of Innovative SMEs consists of; Gerardo Maldivo, from AENOR’s R&D&I unit, who will talk about how to obtain the Innovative SME seal; as well as Joan Miquel Matas and Pedro Suasi, from the Chemical Industry and Balearic Marine clusters, respectively.
Those attending will also be able to find out about the situation of innovative SMEs in the Balearic Islands and the state of implementation of the Innovation Factory.
The “Innovative SME” seal of the Ministry of Science and Innovation allows micro, small and medium-sized companies, as well as emerging companies (startups) to make compatible, within the framework of the same project, the bonuses in the Social Security contribution of the research personnel dedicated exclusively to the project, with the tax deductions for R&D&I established in article 35 of the Law on Corporate Tax.
Access to grants and Public Procurement of Innovation
Similarly, companies that obtain this category can benefit from possible lines of aid that expressly mention the condition of “innovative SME”, and can participate in public procurement through the so-called Innovative Public Procurement, which involves the possibility of reserving pre-commercial procurement for innovative SMEs.
This conference can be followed in person at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca (C. de l’Estudi General, 7, Palma), and also online between 9.00 am and 2.00 pm.
